A small place called Zaton is situated at the west part of the channel of Šibenik, where the river Krka empties into the Adriatic
sea.
It is a typical Dalmatian settlement. Surrounded by hills, full of old and new houses made of stone it is situated on the very edge of the
bay, which carries the same name. The two outstanding
churches, the church of St.Rok and the church of St.Jure were built in the 16th
century.
